5th June, Chichester
Vintage Salon
We are going to have an even more AMAZING version at Vintage at Goodwood for all your questions and hair and make-up needs!
Line Up
Vintage at Goodwood is always going to feature special performances that you will not find at other festivals!
Greg Wilson & Jack Hemingway present to you a Disco to Disco experience, linking the past with the present. Expect wall
to wall dance music covering everything from 70s Funk and Disco, through early
80s Electro, Boogie, Rare Groove and onto, of course early Rave and Acid House.
The Warehouse
Surreally housed in a mid 80s ‘DeMob’ and ‘Dirtbox’ industrial style,
abandoned warehouse, with obligatory views to the stars through a broken roof,
crates for chairs and one hell of a sound system, The Warehouse will Vintage’s
most raucous and energetic venue. You would never believe you were in the middle
of a field on The South Downs.
The Roller Disco
Not part of the same venue but presented alongside The Warehouse will be The
Roller Disco; Vintage’s dance arena and eye candy par excellence . The
Roller Disco will contain two dance floors, with intrepid skaters sensibly
separated from those that have more sense (or less balance).
Introducing Martyn Ware - curator of 80s Pop & Electro.
The Soul Casino – Curated by Eddie Piller
Soul, Funk, Jazz and Reggae loom large in the nation’s psyche and
Vintage at Goodwood have chosen a broad spectrum of classic artists and
deejays to wet your tastebuds.
The SOUL STAGE, is a classic festival performance area where bands
and DJs will deliver crisp and interesting sets loosely presented along
genre lines.
The SOUL CASINO NIGHTCLUB is like something you will never see at a
festival, ever. A replica of a mid 1970’s Mecca Ballroom with a sprung
wooden dancefloor, the SOUL CASINO evokes memories of ALL of the best
soul clubs there ever were.
Friday has been dubbed REGGAE DAY, Saturday is down as FUNK DAY & Sunday could only be SOUL DAY, or SUNDAY SOUL
Introducing Mike Flowers - Curator of The Easy Lounge
“Hello! This is Mike Flowers inviting you
to ‘lighten up at the Leisure Dome’, where urbane sophistication and all round
family fun go skipping hand in hand through ongoing traditions of popular song,
toe-tapping soundtracks, groovy beats and twang.
Leave your cares at the door and step
inside, love…for relaxation, good humour and sublime sounds hold the key to
this cluster of space-age geodesic domes where Popular Song, Easy Listening and
the lighter side of life come together to delight the ear and gently stir the
emotions.”
Introducing Luke Morgan - Curator of Let it Rock.
“Let it Rock will explore the unpredictable journey of R n R culture, from the British “rockin” lifestyle of the 50s through the heavily influenced music of the following 30 years to contemporary bands still dominated by this worldwide phenomena.
Not for the faint hearted this volatile adventure is revved up by the scenes that exploded around it with no sympathy for the mediocre, a wickedly mixed irreverent cocktail guaranteed to leave your hips shaken and your loins thoroughly stirred.”
Introducing Snowboy - Curator of Everything 40s at Vintage at Goodwood. His venue is called The Torch. “As you can imagine, I’m very proud and fortunate to have been given the
enviable and very prestigious role of ‘Curator Of Everything 40’s’ for
Vintage At Goodwood, and so, if you will excuse my immodesty, with my
knowledge, deep research and cross referencing I have gone ahead and
booked the strongest line-up there’s ever been at any 40’s event in the
UK.”
